![]() The only downside is that v3 is quite basic, with no VST, automation, MIDI so it could be used as a basic sampler i guess So it would seem with the current fashion for LoFi and 12-bit samplers etc, that Sonic Foundry did something good in the engine in those early versions (v1, v2, v3, ) that was superceeded by something 'less' good that Sony later did. I still use Acid Pro, for samples if I'm making a beat. Our primary DAW is Nuendo 11, which is undeniably superior overall, but Acid is still great because it let's me deal with sample speed like I'm using a turntable. I also use it regularly when handling a remote mixing project for an online client or to more easily find/map the tempo of stems from a client's instrumental. I can just set the loop region, slide the tempo then manually nudge the tempo to a thousandth of a beat. ![]() If its on a weird tempo (like 96.054bpm), I cam easily set that as the track's tempo then change it it the nearest whole number. ![]() I don't track, mix, or master but I used to when I first started making the switch to DAW from tape and found it to be a great learning tool.
